Have you ever created a goal and wanted it so badly you couldn’t stand it? I
have. I’ve set goals to:
- lose weight
- get organized
- spend more time with my family
- spend more time on what matters & less time working
- financial goals
- get out of debt
- save more money
- make a difference in someone else’s life every day
Does your list look anything like mine? Most folks make such goals at the beginning of the year. Some succeed in achieving their goals and some do not.
2010 Goal Success
The entire 2009 year was one of change for my family. My husband left his job at Chrysler and aside from launching a new product (Beginner to Blogger in 4 Weeks), I also launched a new American outsourcing services company: Your Web Tech Team.
In five (5) short months, I have surpassed my goals I had planned to reach in six months. This is huge! It’s not just the money, it’s about accomplishing something you set out to do. It’s an amazing feeling!
Setting Goals and Achieving Them
I’ve had quite a few folks ask me how I achieved success so quickly with my outsourcing company and my blogging course. Considering that both my outsourcing company and my blogging course utilize the skills and experience I’ve acquired over the past past decade as an ecommerce web designer, I guess one could say it only took me a decade to become an overnight success.
The fact is that once I implemented three key elements, everything fell into place. So here’s those three that I personally used to help me achieve my goals:
- Solid Business Model & Plan In order to reach your goals, you need a solid business model and business plan to get you there. How you determine success may not be the same as someone else. Getting rich may not be your measure of success, so while being able to make a living to support yourself should work into your business model and plan, the ability to make millions from what you do does not need to be the deciding factor in what business model you choose to do. Thus why you write out a solid business model and business plan that will fit in with your definition of success and help you get there. Also, part of your business plan should include creating an Emergency Manual for Your Business. If you don’t know what that is, my friend Nicole Dean has an Online Business Success Kit that is worth it’s weight in gold and she tells you all about emergency manuals and tons more! Seriously, you will save yourself a ton of potential heartache if you get this guide and put it into action!
- Take Action NOW When I say take action, I don’t mean write out the best business model and plan on the planet, and then let it collect dust on a shelf while you’re working on perfecting every pixel on your new awesome web site. Achieving your goals takes w-o-r-k. Sorry to throw that four letter word at you, but it’s true. You can certainly outsource a lot of the work needed to not only get your business up and going, but to help maintain it. But you still need to take action and work to get things going in a forward motion. Goals never put into motion are nothing more than dreams. ~ Traci Knoppe
- Hire a Tonto Even the Lone Ranger had Tonto, why do you think that you can run an entire business all by yourself? You can’t. If you try, you will end up frustrated and you will quickly hit a limit on not only what you are able to do skills-wise, but also hit a time limit. You have the same 24 hours/365 per year that everyone else does. Outsource the aspects of your business that you are not great at and that you know someone else could do better and/or faster than you. Once I learned the valuable lesson of getting help, my business took off like a rocket! I also had more time to focus on the aspects of my business that only I could do, or that I preferred to do. Yes, I am an outsourcer, and I too – outsource.
Call it delegation, getting help or outsourcing; whatever the terminology you use, just put this part of your plan into action NOW.
That’s it. Three simple tips that I personally used to achieve my goals.
To YOUR Success,

P.S. Don’t forget to follow the three steps outlined above, including getting Nicole’s Online Business Success Kit and checking out my American outsourcing services company, if you need help delegating work.

I love what I do! Helping people with their social media and blogging needs – to teach them about all that and/or, to handle their social media needs for them – gives me great joy!
